Friends of Three Pools,

Whether you are new to permaculture or looking for more permaculture friends to geek out with then come along to the Welsh Permaculture Festival on 27th-29th of September 2024. We are super excited to be hosting the gathering this year.

The weekend has workshops, walks and talks, great local food, conversation and music. Camp under the stars, sit and chat around the fire, count worms, learn from experienced practitioners, and exchange ideas with enthusiasts.

Some of the speakers already confirmed include Maddy Harland from Permaculture magazine, author and Cultural Emergence teacher Looby Macnamara, no-dig gardening and homesteading expert and author Stephanie Hafferty, Chris Evans from Applewood permaculture and the Himalyan permaculture centre, Matt Dunwell from Ragmans Lane farm, Abel Pearson from Glasbren, Rachel Phillips from the Apricot centre, Delvin and Grace Solkinson, Nim Robins from Cynefin farm, forest garden author and expert Tomas Remiarz, Paul jennings from Social Farms and Gardens and Paul Lynch from Ansa permaculture in Ireland.

Three Pools residents will be sharing their passions: Huw Evans, founder of Three Pools Permaculture Farm will introduce the concept of the farm, Amy Cooper will be running a workshop on eating holistically, Joris Niggerman Fruits and Berries will be talking about why he loves Syntropic Agriculture, and Tom Carter will take you on a journey to imagine the future of wine in Wales.

Come and camp with us under clear starry skies with great local food, great music and great company!

Due to high demand this year only full weekend tickets will be available. The tickets are offered on a self-assessed sliding scale prices. Your ticket includes meals from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch, cooked onsite by the Three Pools team.

On Friday we invite you to bring something to share for a fireside dinner.

This will be a family friendly event with forest school activities and some sessions designed with young people in mind.

Great interview, but if I'm being honest felt more like 'why I'm still a Calvinist' than 'Christian'. I respect that Kristen's faith tradition is important to her, and she can obviously share to the level she feels comfortable with and no more, but this was a very intellectual conversation. hydrafacial for glowing skin  'd have appreciated hearing more about Kristen's personal faith in Jesus Himself and why that is not shaken despite the attacks she's endured.

I read the article about the weekend weather for October 20th on ODG, and it gives a good sense of autumn conditions in the Lake District. While it looks like it will be a bit cooler and cloudier, there’s still a chance for drier periods — perfect for walks and outdoor activities if the weather avoids heavy rain or storms. The article notes that it may be possible to avoid the worst effects of storms and enjoy the weekend mostly without serious weather problems, though higher elevations could be windy and chilly. This is useful information for anyone planning trips, hikes, or outdoor time, as warm clothing and waterproof shoes will be helpful, but in some areas the weather may…

What a wonderful event to host at Three Pools! The lineup of speakers is genuinely impressive — having Maddy Harland, Stephanie Hafferty, and Tomas Remiarz all under one roof (or rather, one starry sky!) is the kind of gathering that makes you rethink how you approach the land around you. It's interesting how permaculture thinking mirrors strategic frameworks used in other fields — just as students studying an Apple PESTLE Analysis examine how environmental and social forces shape a company's direction, permaculture asks us to read those same forces in our landscape and respond thoughtfully. Camping, worm-counting, fireside conversations, and locally grown meals — this sounds less like a festival and more like the reset we all quietly need. Can't…
